Most of us give away our precious data without even realising.
This results in many companies getting to know much more about you then they should.
I think we have all been there, for instance, when you download an app they require you to agree to permit various functions. That is an example of sending data for free.
Well, recently, I have heard more people talk about an app called UBDI.
They are a company that is connected to market research companies to help supply them with the data they need.
In return for giving them insights, they claim to pay you in cash.
With apps that pay you for data, you have to be careful as you want to know that they are not a scam and going to take more from you then you’re getting from them.
In this UBDI review we will be seeing if they are a legitimate and safe app to use.

What Is UBDI About?
UBDI (Universal Basic Data Income) is an app that consists of a community where users can get paid for exchanging there insights and data for cash.
The whole initiative of the company is helping users have more control of the data they give away.
That is because any data they send will be done with anonymity.
While at the same time helping companies who need it to improve there services and products from it.
Its practically market research and with so many brands out there looking to find out behaviour patterns of there consumers means there is a market out there.
So far over 8500 people who have signed up to the app, it’s still in the new stages having been released back in September 2019.
Apps that pay you for data isn’t uncommon, Honeygain is an excellent example of another one that pays you for just that.
Whos Behind It All?
The owner is Dana Budzyn, who is also the founder and CEO of the company. You also have two other founders in Shane Green and Mark Kilaghbian.
While they are primarily based in Washington, DC, they are also set up in Bosnia And Herzegovina.
The app was cleared in September to go ahead due to $825,000 in funding.
Is It Free To Sign Up?
In the introduction video on the website, it says that signing up will take 10 minutes to do, of which they are right.
However, and while they do explain each step, it does feel like a long-winded sign-up process.
When you feel like you are finished, there is something else you need to do.
But each step is essential to making sure the app can function.
Let’s go over what it entails, so you understand what you will have to do.
1. Downloading UBDI
The first task is to download the main app. That takes a few seconds to do.
Once you have opened it, you will be taken briefly through how the app works.
From here you will be shown a login page. Being a new user, you will need to choose the sign-up button.
There are two details you will need to create for this account, a username and password.
2. Verifying Your Phone Number
The next step is to put in your phone number so you can verify it.
You will be sent a six-digit code instantly that you will need to enter into the box.
They do say that this will only be used to verify your account and for the 2-factor authentication.
3. Download Digi.me
For the app to work, you will need to install an app named Digi.me.The function of this is to encrypt all the data you send to them, to make sure that it’s safe.
That means you will have to head on over to this other app, again make an account and link the two apps.
You won’t need to use Digi.me after signing up, they will be running in the background performing the above function.
3. Completing PrivateMatch Tags
At first, I wasn’t sure what this was but what they are is profilers, similar to what you get on other survey sites.
As a feature of this app, you will receive surveys from time to time, so this is to get to know you more.
Now PrivateMatch Tags will require you to answer roughly 40 questions about your demographic.
While it seems long, it is easy to get through.
Now so that you know PrivateMatch is a technology they use to keep all the responses anonymous. That means when someone completes a survey, there partners won’t be able to identify individuals.
How Do You Make Money?
If you have completed all the above-listed steps, you should start receiving surveys.
These surveys are how you will earn points that you can then withdraw later on.
I have had the app downloaded for a few days, but it wasn’t until the second day that I received the survey.
I didn’t receive a notification or email as you may expect with other survey panels. Instead, I logged in and checked to find one in my dashboard.
Looking at the screenshot, you can see it’s about politics and pays out $1.
What I like also is that once you have opened up the survey, you are then given further details.
That includes the number of questions the survey consists of and the number of spots left.
I had gone through surveys that had taken me at least 10 minutes to complete, so when this one took me a minute, I was surprised.
Anyway once completed you will see under studies your updated total of completions.
You will also see a new balance, in my case I had $1 and 10 UBDI given to me.
Looking at existing users feedback, it seems you can expect to have 1 or 2 surveys come in each week.
Some will be for all users while others for specific demographics.
How Do They Payout?
At the moment they are only supporting US residents, although anyone can sign up unless you are from the US there won’t be a way for you to cash out.
They payout through bank transfer.
What I Am A Fan Off
1. More In Control Of Your Data
Ever since they came on to the market, UBDI has spoken a lot about there aims to make data more important.
Like I have mentioned a good number regularly give away data for free, a lot of which is valuable.
So with an app like UBDI, you know where it’s going to, getting paid for it and staying anonymous at the end of it.
2. Active Customer Service
It’s refreshing to see a company that is keeping up to date with its user’s issues and feedback.
I see so many sites, services, programs you name it almost ignore their user’s feedback.
UBDI are active on all social media’s and are also replying to any complaints on Google Play.
That shows that they are trying to improve and are there if you do encounter issues.
3. Good Pay For Time
Above you can see I tried out a survey for $1, it only took me a minute to do which is good value.
A lot of people think you can’t make money with surveys, and while in general, the earning potential is low on survey sites you find it okay with this app.
That is thanks to them paying you well considering the time your sacrificing. The developers are also looking into bringing higher-paying surveys, around the $3 -$10 mark.
What I Am Not A Fan Off
1. Complicated At Times
At times it is easy to become overwhelmed, especially when getting the app up and running.
Luckily I do understand apps and devices in general well, but I know some may get confused with the account set up.
You are required to download not only a few apps but also make more than one account.
I would advise that you pay attention to each instruction and read each page, so you are following along with it all.
2. Exclusive To US
The other problem I came across this is that if you aren’t American, you won’t be able to use them.
You can sign up and complete surveys however, you won’t be able to cash out whatever you make.
As they expand, it will be interesting to see if they accommodate for more.
If that is the case, I will update this post.
How Much Can You Make With Them?
Currently, UBDI is trying to fix the issue of more surveys being given out as some members are facing inconsistency.
With that said and to give you a ball figure of how much you could potentially make, I have seen people earning $10-$30 a month.
Which isn’t too bad, but for a survey site that’s good.
Some survey sites make it hard even to make that, but the fact that there is no disqualification rate does contribute here.
That means you can complete a survey without being booted out.
Is The UBDI App Worth Trying Out?
UBDI is offering an opportunity that a lot of people are making money and ultimately are pleased with.
I had a good feeling going into this UBDI review as I have been seeing good things said about them on forums and social media.
As a result, they have risen a lot since launch.
The goal is to make money, and with people seeing there withdrawn earnings, it seems you can’t go wrong.
This app is new, so not many people are aware of them yet, but you will also find many apps out there you can make money with. It’s all about having a look.
I would recommend UBDI so feel free to go download it and see how you get on with it.
For you to find this app, I’m guessing you are on the hunt for quick and easy opportunities to make money.
So also take a look at these reward sites and apps while you’re at it to get you on the right track in 2020.
