In the online space of earning platforms, there are two that are regarded highly as go-tos by thousands of people.
These two are Swagbucks and Inbox Dollars, two of which, funnily enough, are my favourite platforms for earning money online.
However, if you had to choose one, want to put most of your time into one, or simply want to know which one has the edge and which wins the battle?
In this comprehensive guide, we will take a deep dive into the two, going over the opportunities they offer, the rewards on offer, user experiences, and more to help you decide the one for you.
Earning Opportunities
Swagbucks
When it comes to Swagbucks, there isn’t much they don’t offer. In fact, it would be easier to name tasks that they don’t have.
With them, you have a variety of ways to collect what is called ‘SB.’
That is their currency that can be redeemed for various rewards.
Surveys
Now, you have Swagbucks surveys to get the ball running with their opportunities.
There is a mixture of their own and third parties they partner with.
You are given a number of these each day, updated throughout the day and week, where you can complete them to earn SB.
Mind you, you won’t fit all the surveys.
Each one is looking for different demographics, as its market research companies seek info.
But if you complete them, you will already have money in the bank.
Here I have written a guide on how to complete surveys to help you get the most money for your opinions.
Videos
Next up, we have videos based on various topics, which are sorted into playlists for you to watch.
For each video you watch, you will earn a couple of SB.
Mind you; these aren’t the best payouts; however, these will slowly build up over time in tandem with other opportunities to the point where you can withdraw.
You can also earn while completing other tasks on the site or in your house.
Shopping
A popular section of Swagbucks is the shopping portal, where users can find some great cashback rates on their favorite shops.
I always recommend going through these, as if you find a shop on there that you would typically buy at, you while well get a bit of cashback for it.
Games
Swagbucks also pays you for getting your gaming head on.
With various types of games to get on with, from flash games to downloading mobile games and reaching milestones, it’s a fun way to earn.
All in all as you can see you have plenty of ways to earn, to get towards that $1000 a month in extra income.
InboxDollars
Onto InboxDollars, they are a rewards platform will multiple ways to earn.
PaidEmails
Something that InboxDollars offers unique to them that Swagbucks doesn’t is an email section called ‘PaidEmails.’
Just as it reads, users can get paid just by reading different brand emails.
That is a low payout task, so do not expect much, but like doing tasks such as videos, the earnings will build, and of course, it will take the least time to do too.
Surveys
Now, like Swagbucks, you have a survey section where you will get paid for each successfully completed.
What I do like about Inbox Dollars is as they learn more about you, and by using your demographic, they will align you only with surveys that are compatible with you.
Watching TV
You can earn from watching a TV show to various short, entertaining clips with videos on the InboxDollars platform.
That also goes for playing games and online shopping; both of these giant reward platforms have partnered with a range of stores to give you cash back.
Games
As well as games to help you get paid for competing in your favourite mobile games.
Search Engine
To end with, we have the search engine where using this unique feature, you can earn dollars by searching the web.
While you won’t get paid for every search you make, it offers another easy way to earn.
Winner: Draw.
Both platforms offer a variety of ways to earn, although the specific opportunities differ slightly.
Payout Options
Swagbucks
Once you have done a few of the tasks, it’s only natural to start thinking about what can be done with these SB.
With Swagbucks, you have different pay-out options, starting from $3. That means you will only have to earn a little before seeing the result of your hard work.
For cash, you have PayPal, of which you give them your email address, and they will send it straight into your account. Other cash options consist of Pre-Paid debit cards.
If you don’t want cash, you can opt for gift cards, such as Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, a bite to eat with Dominos and much more.
As you go through the rewards, you will notice the discounts Swagbucks puts on certain ones for a limited time; for instance, right now, you can get PayPal cash for 50% of the usual amount of SBs required to redeem.
InboxDollars
InboxDollars has a straightforward system to get to grips with; they don’t have multiple thresholds, which makes it simple.
As you know, you must reach one amount to get any payout.
This amount is $30, and once users have reached this point, they can choose from prepaid Visa cards, various other gift cards, and cheques.
As you can see, the earning threshold is ten times higher than Swagbucks.
But this can be ideal for those who like to build up their money and withdraw for one big payout instead of a few dollars here in there.
Winner: Swagbucks.
While both platforms offer a range of options to get paid, including cash and gift cards, I have to go with Swagbucks on this one. The flexibility with payouts and a lower threshold, will make it easier to get paid out whenever you want.
User Experience
Swagbucks
Both Swagbucks app and desktop interface is very easy to get to terms with, with each way of earning clearly labelled you can navigate straight towards the type of task you want to do.
This organisation continues, with your SB balance clearly shown at the top, indicating how much you have at all times along with a search bar to aid you moving around Swagbucks.
The flexibility that Swagbucks provides both its mobile and desktop users, is likely one of the reasons they are used so much.
InboxDollars
Being around since 2000, it only makes sense that InboxDollars has adapted to the terms with an easy to grip interface both for when your on computer and on your mobile phone.
This enables you with the opportunity to earn no matter where you are.
If there is one slight negative that I have personally found, then that is the slighly distracting ads which you will encounter more often then on Swagbucks.
Winner: Swagbucks.
Both platforms are solid in this department, however due to ads I will have to give this W to Swagbucks, which makes it just a tad easier for users to earn with there interface.
Overall Reputation
Swagbucks
To start with both of these sites has been around for years, and I mean years.
Swagbucks first entered the frey in 2009, over 14 years ago, and in that time have paid out over $550 millions in rewards.
So if you ever had any doubt about them paid, you can erase them after hearing that.
It just goes to show how well this site has done to retain its users and gain new users, while still offering a quality way for earning online by keeping up with the times.
If you do any research on Swagbucks online, you won’t find it hard to find many high ratings for Swagbucks. In fact Swagbucks has a decent average of 4.3 stars out of 5 from over 33,000 submitted reviews.
InboxDollars
If you thought Swagbucks was established, InboxDollars as been around even longer, with the platform being released in 2000.
Over there 23 year history, they have paid out over $59 million to its users, making sure to keep that strong fanbase firmly intact.
I can name many reward sites like InboxDollars that were released around the same time, that I once used myself, that have disappeared by InboxDollars has withstood the test of time.
InboxDollars also has a similar rating score on Trustpilot with 4.2 stars out of 5 from over 36,000 reviews.
Winner: Swagbucks.
Being more well known and with a higher overall payout, Swagbucks takes this round over InboxDollars.
Final Verdict
So as you can see from this Swagbucks vs Inbox Dollars showdown, both platforms are pretty similar in many ways.
From offering many ways to earn money, a track record that goes back many years, and an interface that makes it easy to achieve and cash out for rewards.
Edging each battle bar, one is Swagbucks which remains my favourite mainly because I love to be able to withdraw whenever I like, and it is more well-known online.
However, it’s best to know which one I prefer is irrelevant, as it’s all personal preference as to whether you will choose Swagbucks and InboxDollars.
For instance, if you like completing emails and getting your payments in bigger chunks, a site like InboxDollars will fit you better.
Either way, I would still recommend trying out both, especially if you haven’t already.
That way, you can get a feel for both and maximize those earnings by making the most of their offer.
So whichever platform you choose to use, I wish you happy earnings!
