Welcome to my Dibs App Review.
Whenever a new app comes my way, which offers a unique opportunity to earn prizes, I am one of the first to check it out.
Today, I found a new app called Snatch based around AR (stands for augmented reality).
It is an easy concept to understand, and I will go over how it and the app work in a second.
So if you want to know what this trending application is all about, this review will explain it all.
I will also tell you whether or not I recommend them and if they are worth it.
Update 30th May 2021 – The owners of Playstack changed the game’s name from ‘Snatch’ to ‘Dib’s’. I have updated parts of this post. However, since the game is still the same, many have stayed the same, including the photos in-game.

About The Dibs App
The Snatch App, as I said, is an AR app where users can earn prizes by collecting prizes.
It is a new idea only just released in July 2019 and has amassed over 10,000+ in downloads.
They were created by a company called PlayStack which has a range of games already under their name.
Their focus is to publish games for the next generation, and you can see that with their latest game, it is different.
Since their release back in 2019, the game has underperformed, which I suspect is why they decided to change the name.
Below is a picture of the old brand logo, which is safe to say has been changed completely.
So How Does It Work?
Admittedly I had no clue how it worked initially. All I knew is that you get to win prizes. I also saw these boxes on the featured image and had no idea how it worked.
You are competing against other people on the app, and what you have to do is go and hunt boxes around you from other players.
When you first get started on the game, you are presented with a map; this is a map with your current location as it is needed for it to work.
If you have ever played Pokemon GO, you will have a brief idea of how it works already, as you then need to use the map to go and see the boxes. It doesn’t end there as you then need to capture the box once found. Now I don’t think this is required, but you need to locate it and then lock on to it for a few seconds.
One of the main frustrations between users seems to be the following, and that is the wait. You have to wait several hours before you can unlock the box and get the contents in it.
As you can see from the one I did earlier, I have to wait under 6 hours before getting the prize.
That in itself isn’t too bad, but nearby scratchers will be able to steal it within that time. That brings me onto guarding of prizes point, which is a significant aspect of the app.

Protecting Your Prizes
The app allows you to get free prizes, but you need to invest your money to get them at a cost.
Users have the option to buy gems that are used to purchase gadgets.
You can get them using coins as well as by using gems to refill that currency. The gadgets are in three categories consisting of Snatch, Protection, and Unique.
- Snatch as a Magnifier, Freeze, Magnet (coins)
- Protection as a Jetpack, Shield and Smoke Bomb (coins)
- Unique as a Guard Dog, Hideout, Camouflage and Snatchatron (Gems)
These range from 100 to 250 and last between 5 and 15 seconds.
What Prizes Can You Get?
When you complete the registration, the first prize you get is 5000 coins. As far as I know, everyone understands this to get them started.
After that, you can get all sorts, from cinema tickets, food, drink, items to different vouchers.
One of the boxes I did capture earlier on in the review unlocked. The contents consisted of the below, a voucher to a fitness gym.
Why I’m A Fan Of Dibs
1. Free To Download
The idea of the app is excellent, and there is definitely potential in it if they listen to reviews.
What is good, though, and as long as you don’t buy any gems, this is effectively free to play.
It does encourage you to move around and get active, similar to the popular Pokemon GO.
Whether it is worth it, though, is another question as you might just be wasting your time trying to get these boxes.
Why I’m Not A Fan Of Dibs
1. Looks Rigged
This may just be me, but from initial impressions, the game seems to not be in your favour and encourages you to buy these in-app tools to keep hold of any prizes.
One of my boxes is over 3 hours, and I have noticed some of the people on the map are getting slowly closer.
That brings me to the next thing: Are these people even real, or are they generated by the app themselves.
What made me question this aspect is you can see other usernames, and some are very similar.
You would think if each individual was creating a name for themselves, it would be unique but not in this case. E.g., two nearly users had ‘2hourparcels’ and ‘Silverparcels.’
However, I don’t know whether this is the case.
2. Are People Coming To My House?
Now, this is something that I have just caught onto, and that is other players will need to come to you.
That is to take your boxes because you have to be within a radius.
So if they are to steal boxes from me, they would at least need to come to my street.
That, to me, is a little creepy, and the idea of actual people roaming the streets taking each other’s boxes does sound weird.
3. Waste Of Time (And Energy)
There is a target market for this app, and it seems to be those who are casual phone users who want to earn a few prizes in their spare time.
In the title, I mentioned you might be able to earn cash, and it does seem the case, however how common it is to get that, I don’t know.
I know this isn’t for people who want to bring in a side income as it is just a game. But if you are looking to make money each week.
Is The Dibs App Worth It?
It’s hard to tell so far as the app is less than four months old.
However, what I would say is that since launching, the feedback isn’t promising.
There are just aspects off, especially the fact you need to put in money to get your prizes.
The app promotes the idea that you are getting free prizes; however, it makes no sense if you have to put money in.
We all want to earn free stuff, but from trying Dibs for the past few days, and I can tell it’s not the ideal app to make money.
Firstly I haven’t got any cash for it, just prizes, but it was also designed to be a casual play and not one to help you make an income.
You can earn money doing tasks that don’t include collecting boxes; instead, completing surveys, watching videos, and all kinds of activities.
Now the site I recommend to you is Swagbucks, which I have been making the most out of and showing to anyone interested in making money for years.
They are established and have paid out over 200,000,000 in rewards already.
That is my go-to, but you can also look at these 11 extra income apps I have had success with.
Closing Off
Anyway, that wraps up this Dibs app review. As always, I would be interested to hear others thoughts on this app.
