Let’s say, e.g., a company as two different designs for a soda can. They will survey to see what the public thinks of the two and if they were to buy one, which one appeals more to them.
That example gives you an idea of why a company would want to do a survey and how it benefits them.

That is one of the questions that most people want to know when it comes to completing surveys.

That is a tough one to answer as most market research companies have different rates and budgets when it comes to sending out studies.
However, if you sign up through a survey panel like Swagbucks, you can expect to get between $0.25 and $3 a survey.
Since I have completed dozens of surveys in the past, I have a reasonably good idea of payouts and what you can expect.
You may be thinking that it is quite low, and in truth, it is, and you shouldn’t be sacrificing your time for such a small amount.
There are so many other things you could be doing that would financially benefit you more; this includes starting a blog, YouTube channel, freelancing, growing your social media, and following.

Anyway, going back to the initial question, it is easy to see why surveys are low paid, and that is because anyone can give their opinions.
It’s not a hard thing to do. If you were to do surveys each day for a week, I would reckon you could make $10-$30 per week.
However, the question remains on whether or not it is still worth it?

Now your job from here is a piece of cake, is to click through and sign up.
Once signed up, your dashboard will have some surveys, or they work in a way where they send survey invitations to your email. It depends on how the survey panel works.
From here, how it works is for every survey you complete, you will either earn points or cash. This can depend on the site you use.
Some panels like to invent there own site currency. So each task you complete on the site, you will receive there own currency, whether that is points or like Swagbucks where you earn SB.

On the other hand, some sites like to keep it simple by just paying you through cash; this is great as you know precisely what you are receiving for completing a task.
How Long Do Surveys Take?
Another question where again, it just depends on which panel you join and the kinds of surveys you get invited too.
From my experience, surveys take anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes each. Now that is generally, however, I have seen the odd one take up to an hour to complete.
What tends to be the case, and as you would expect, the surveys that take longer do typically pay longer than shorter ones; however, not all the time.
That is why if you are completing surveys, you should look at both reward and time.
This way, you can evaluate if it is worth your time. I have seen many surveys which pay to length ratio is very poor.
In the survey industry and something many people don’t like, and that is the standard wage comparisons.
People look at surveys and say if you are getting paid $2 for a 30-minute study, for example, then that means you are making $4 an hour, which is below the minimum salary.
That is true; however, surveys don’t pay on an hourly salary, it isn’t a job, and you aren’t employed.
Surveys are an extra income job, the kind of thing you do a few hours at the weekend, not what you depend on to live.
Are Surveys For You?
Whether surveys are for you all depends on what you are looking to get out of it.
People doing surveys all have their motives, maybe you are trying to buy that new console or phone, help put money towards groceries or money aside genuinely help companies by giving your opinions on various things.
But what I should make clear is you won’t make ridiculous sums of money, it’s not possible.
Now that is to name a few of the reasons why people do surveys, and I would say for those in particular that it is a good idea.
I know when I was first doing surveys, I was around 15, and I just wanted to make a few pounds as at that age, getting a job and making money wasn’t as easy.
Not only that to get $10/$20 felt like loads to me at the time as I wasn’t used to getting money.
However, at this stage, I don’t have time for surveys, not only am I busy working on my blog, but its the most efficient way to use my time.
So if you want to earn a few extra dollars then it won’t do any harm to check out a few sites, there are some good ones out there.
