Achieving more than average is the motto I have hence the name of my site and is something I wan’t to help a lot of people do.
Many come across the issue of feeling ‘average’ and not knowing what to do in order to improve themselves.
The problem is more feeling you are useless and you feel you could achieve more.
And the reason why a lot of people stay feeling this is because they have likely accepted that what ever there doing especially if they don’t enjoy it is what there life is.
For the majority of us we are almost waiting for something to happen that is great instead of going out our way to find it. That’s how I used to think.
For instance in my life and many other I was taught the same things you go to school, go uni and get a job. We are shown only that way.
And for many they almost feel comfortable to follow it because they don’t see another route.
The truth behind it is to never settle for average, if you think you can achieve better then go do that.
However its not as easy as people think and often requires you work hard and change the way your currently doing thing.
What I always say is first have a realistic goal and you are willing to put in the necessary amount of hours to achieve that then go for it.
Today I am going to talk to you about some of the steps you can take to start achieving more than average today.

Do What The Ordinary Don’t
Do you ever think why some of the most successful people got to there position.
Admittedly some do inherit fortunes from there familys but for the rest of them they have had to work hard.
Whether that is getting up earlier, doing extra work in your spare time make sure you are giving yourself the best chance of reaching your goal.
I remember a few years back when I attempted to build a business not only was it fairly half-hearted but I also struggled to find the motivation.
This is why you should also be pursuing something you actually enjoy, as if not eventually it will catch up with you.
Now when I say don’t do what the ordinary don’t, try to make smart decisions with everything you do.
When you look at owners of companies and successful people one thing they all have in common is they work smart and hard at the same time, not one without the other.
I used to work so hard I would get burn out however I wasn’t working smart because I didn’t have all the knowledge I have to day.
Cut Out Social Media And Netflix
This links back to the last point is that you need to cut out time wasting activities you do. Doing things like binging netflix series and scrolling endlessly on social media won’t help you achieve your goals.
The only time that I recommend those activities is when you have had a full productive and have time where you can just relax.
But if your doing those things all day or frequently through out, are you making the most of your time.
This is only recently hit me as I noticed in particularly how much on screen time I have on social media apps.
It made feel bad at the amount of hours I was wasting essentially looking at other people doing cool stuff and achieving there goals.
So it became a toss up for me between watching other people or doing something that will benefit myself. Easy answer in the end.
But this doesn’t apply to just social media but to any bad habit and there are many out there. You just have to question yourself on whether your spending way too long doing it and if it has any benefit on you.
Drop Bad Influences
What I had to do when I started my online business was drop people out of friendship circle.
This is not because there bad people at all. Is was that some people just didn’t understand what I was doing.
Society is for people going out doing the norm, getting a 9-5 job working x amount of hours a week until maybe 65. Thats normal. However I knew when I was back in school that it wasn’t what I wanted to do.
The work aspect was never the problem, I was fine with that, I knew there was another way of getting it. That is where I came across the idea of making money for your self and being your own boss.
Now because I started a online business years ago with the idea of building it up nearly everyone around me was skeptical about it and thought I was doing the wrong thing.
I was even told ‘you need to get a proper job really’.
A number of people said this, friends, family, close people but what it did was give me greater ammunition to prove them wrong.

Many thanks to you for being in such a beautiful area and I have found a new meaning in life through you. We were taught from an early age to go to school first, then study and then find a new job and make a living. After reading your article, I realized that if life is not within its limits, I will never be successful because if I think I can do something better than this I must do and I have to try. I wanted to be a successful footballer but my family never let me be a footballer. They wanted me to study and do a good job. My family was then convincing me if I could get a good job by studying well and I could be a footballer it was no guarantee. But I didn’t try. If I had tried, I would certainly have been a successful footballer. Now I want to start my dream again and I want to go far, and I hope that after reading this article, many will be encouraged and will be able to reshape their lives.
Hiya Joshua
I really enjoyed reading your article about achieving more than average. It was thought provoking and informative. I have started my own online business but unlike you I’m quite late to the party. Do you have any tips for older noobs that are just starting out in the online business world?
I will bookmark your site so I can read it again, I need as much information as possible and you have provided a lot. Thank you for a well researched and informative article. I’m sure it will help me, krs PurpleLioness
Awesome, inspiring article. It reminds me of the TV commercial that says “Just Okay is not Okay”. We all have it in us to do better, if we put our mind to it. Starting our own business is a big step but it can be done if we believe in ourselves. You’re right about that.On the other hand, I think it’s important that people understand that doing our best doesn’t always mean we are THE best, although we can be OUR best if we give our best. Keep up the good work.
Hi Joshua,
I was also an underachiever or an average one in my best days, I totally relate with your “How to start achieving more than average” article. The bad influence section inspired me the most, I always listened to people trying to bring me down and most of the time they did.
Your recommendation on the Wealthy Affiliate program is perfect and I invite all your blog visitors to join you on this. I am one myself and it is the most positive thing that happened to me in a while.
Thanks,
Jordan.
I can relate to you Jordan, it sure is tough, good to hear you are already a member of Wealthy Affiliate they will help you achieve your goals.
Looking around is not always good. I always look forward how to get more success from myself today than what I got yesterday (replacing the time periods when closing my weeks, months, trimesters and years).
The world is killing for your attention. Social media is the greatest time sucking machine ever; if you add to that recipe sharing the rest of your time with positive energy sucking people get ready for a. Miserable life.
Affiliate marketing is all about passion. We has been taught to avoid passionate behaviors but, writing about any you may have would never a bad thing. Once you start delivering content, you:ll be able to build an audience and there is when the money comes.
I’ve taken a look to your proposed platform. They have a free trial (this is great as the let you know how much their owners trust on their value proposition). Something else I’ve noticed is how active the community is in respond all type of questions to each other (technical or creative writing related).
Thanks for sharing!
That’s the attitude, Juan!
Achieving more than average takes a lot of time and effort and to do what normally any ordinary person finds it difficult. Sometimes it’s hard to achieve our laid down goals but when we do things we have passion for, we have this zeal and desire, then definitely we will get it accomplished.
This is truly a beautiful piece of information to help people understand that achieving more than average is very possible. We should learn to stop settling on average when we feel we are up to the task.
Appreciate it Kell 🙂
