Does Unity Games payout? Well, chances are that is the very question on your mind right now.
Currently, there are hundreds of games on the app store, that have been created using this company.
However, can you actually earn money through them?
Well in this post I aim to go through everything you need to know
Table of Contents
What Is Unity?
Now the reason why you see that Unity logo with so many games on the store.
This is because it’s a very popular company used to create video games.
With the name Unity Technologies, which was founded in 2004 in Denmark, they have been one of the go-to names for anyone who has an idea of video game.
Whether that be one for the Xbox Series X or for those who want to create the next viral mobile game.
Using the service developers can make 2D and 3D games, designing games just as they like it.
Hence why you see so many different types of games with the loading screen of Unity around.
However, you’re probably wondering, what hand do they play when it comes to all these money-making games out there?
As no matter whether you are playing Solitaire, Bingo or some gardening game.
It does look like Unity is the company who is behind it.
However as I will explain, there is a bit more to this.
Does Unity Games Pay Out?
Yes, Unity Games do pay out. However not how you would expect.
If you are a developer who has designed a game through there service.
Then you could earn money through monetizing that game in many ways.
In which I will talk about in the next section.
But if you have come across a money making game that has been put together through Unity.
Then in that case it would not pay out.
At least not in 99 percent of cases.
The reason why is because Unity is a game creator.
Of which from my experience the majority don’t pay.
As the game is set up in a way, where the developers would not be able to fund any payments to its users.
This is due to the thousands and sometimes millions of users they have.
So if they are claming to give out 100s of dollars to its users.
There is no way they could do that.
Especially if you only need to play a game like solitaire or achieve bingo to do so.
Now I should specify that the people not paying, is the developer itself.
It has nothing to do with Unity.
Can You Earn Money With Unity Games?
You can earn money with Unity Games.
But that will not come from you picking up a free game of the store, that has been created by Unity with millions of users.
Instead the way to earn, is through doing one of the following two things:
- Finding a legitimate paying Unity Game: This would be one, that has proof that they pay, are established, and run by a company that isn’t hidden online. However from my experience these are very hard to find. The ones that I have found to pay don’t use Unity, some of which you can find right here.
- Creating a game through Unity: If you have the budget, you can create a game through Unity. By doing so you can open up the opportunity to monetize it in many different ways.
Some of the ways you can generate revenue through a Unity Game consist of:
1. In-App Purchases
By putting in-app purchases in your Unity Game you will be able to benefit from offering additional content to your users.
If you look at some of the biggest games on the store, that don’t use advertising.
They will all be making shed load from just using this business model.
However in order to make this work.
What ever your offering as to give value to the user.
Just like many Unity Games do, has you may have experienced if you have tried out one of there making money online games, they feature ads.
Well advertisments are a great way to make money with your game.
Whether that is during your gameplay or throughout levels.
I would say any of those fake money making games, that you encounter are likely making a very nice amount from this.
Some Unity games offer subscription models, where players can pay a recurring fee to access exclusive content or benefits.
This provides a steady stream of income for developers and encourages player loyalty.
Unity game developers can leverage crowdfunding platforms to secure financial support from the gaming community.
By pitching their game concept and offering rewards to backers, developers can fund the development and production of their Unity game.
5. Premium Game Sales
Another way you can earn money through Unity games is through selling them.
Instead of making cash over time, you can offer them to users at a one-time fee upfront.
This isn’t common however, has most game developers enjoy more success with ads and in-app purchases.
However for the right game, this can do really well.
Unity games have proven to be a lucrative market for developers, with numerous success stories of games achieving significant financial success.
Ever remember the likes of “Flappy Bird” and “Crossy Road“?
Well these were just a few of some of the biggest performing games that generated millions of dollars over the years using Unity.
As a result Unity has remained as one of the go-to services, when it comes to creating there next viral sensation.
How To Withdraw Money From Unity Games?
Withdrawing money playing Unity Games will depend specifically on the game you are playing.
Some of the games out there have no minimum thresholds.
This means you can make a redemption, as soon as you have earned a cent from playing a game.
I have seen for others though, that they have thresholds in the thousands.
Now with that said, the amount that you need to withdraw, may not even matter.
Has for many of the making money games that have been created using Unity.
They often let you withdraw.
However won’t process your payment.
That is because these ones are made by games, that don’t have a business model in place that would make it feasible to process the amount of withdrawals.
If we take a game I recently reviewed called ‘Treasure Tree’.
For this game it has over 50 thousand downloads and gives out $1000 Amazon vouchers and $100 in PayPal virtual currency, within the first few minutes of playing.
Now has you can imagine there is no way you could withdraw these amounts.
As it wouldn’t make sense for the developers to give out such amounts to each of its users.
Unity is a popular platform for creatinng all kinds of games, and as you may have found yourself, there logo can be found everywhere with the amount of games created using them.
Now its important to clarify that Unity won’t pay you directly for playing games.
So if you have been wondering why some game hasn’t paid you, that isn’t because of them its due to the developer who created the game.
Unity only gives you the tools to make a game, so its up to the developer how they structure it, and if they offer earning opportunities to pay out themselves.
So if you come across a game claiming to pay large sums of money to players, be skeptical, as most of these claims are usually not true due to the sheer number of players and financial constraints.
So, can you earn money with Unity? Absolutely, but not in the way you might think.
It’s not about playing a game; it’s about creating one.
If you can create a successful game using Unity, there are several ways to monetize it, including in-app purchases, advertisements, subscriptions, crowdfunding, or selling the game outright.
Unity has seen many successful stories.
Games like “Flappy Bird” and “Crossy Road” were built using Unity and earned millions through smart monetization strategies.
If you’re playing a Unity game that does pay out, how you withdraw your earnings will depend on the individual game’s policies.
Some games might let you withdraw at a low threshold, while others may set higher limits.
But be aware, many games that promise pay-outs often don’t process them, especially if the rewards seem too good to be true.
Always ensure that you’re dealing with a legitimate and trustworthy developer.
