Have you come across Coin Smashers and wondered to yourself whether this new game is legit.
After all, the videos promoting the game show people cashing in, so surely the game is genuine.
However, I have enough evidence to believe that isn’t exactly the case.
In fact, making money with this game is a lot harder than you may think.

What Is Coin Smashers?
Coin Smashers is a game where you merge coins, and apparently, according to them, you can make some serious money.
The first advert I saw for them a few months ago, showed someone earning enough to pay for their black Friday shopping.
Now, if you can make enough money to buy any luxury items just through a game, I would consider that a success.
However, the opportunities with Coin Smashers do look way too good to be true.
This game is made by app developers Benni Harel who also made Emoji Riddler and Emoji Quest.
They are also making new games on what seems to be a weekly basis, all of which are either emoji, money, or merged themed.
Right now, they are up to 25 games, most of which the company claim to be an opportunity for users to earn some good cash.
I have only reviewed one of these games, which is the most successful one they made in terms of downloads with half a million installs.
But going off the feedback people left for that game, along with my own findings, it wasn’t paying out like they made out they were.
How Does It Work?
Coin Smashers is another game where your merging numbers and coins in an attempt to earn money.
You start with an empty container, of which you will start coins to the bottom.
The theme of the coins does change as you complete levels.
For the first couple, you will get 2’s, 4’s, 8’s, 16’s, and so on.
However, at level 3, you will be shown famous faces. Instead these themes continue to change every couple of levels.
To explain the game, I am going to use numbers as an example.
So let’s say you begin with a number 2 coin.
If you drop it into the container and then a few coins later you get given another two, you need to aim for the two you originally dropped so that they combine to make a 4.
You can drag the coin from left to right to drop it where you want.
However, once you put your finger on it, it will release once you take it off.
At the bottom, there is an opening with a percentage on it.
When you successfully merge a coin ,this percentage will rise.
Once you reach 100 percent, you complete the level and move on.
How Do You Earn Money?
There are three ways to earn money with Coin Smashers. Each is familiar with the developer’s other games.
Let me explain how each one works and what you can expect to get from them.
Level Bonuses
Starting with level bonuses, you get a random cash amount for each level you pass.
Level 1 gives you $8.75, level 2 and 3 give you $8+ too.
From there, the money will drop down for each level you complete.
Instant Rewards
Instant Rewards can be attained by tapping on the flying PayPal coin.
You will find these while playing levels, as they will randomly appear.
It is possible to be offered them multiple times a level.
But just like the levels, the more you collect, the less you get.
If you tap on them, you get a cash bonus, and it’s as easy as that.
One instant reward might give you $7. However, the next one will likely be $6.50.
Benni Harel implements this to make sure that users aren’t reaching the threshold too quickly.
Claw Machine
The Claw Machine is a mini-game where you direct a claw to pick up PayPal coins.
As you may have guessed, if you can retrieve one, you will get yet another cash bonus.
The catch here is that to have a go, you must get tickets.
At the moment, two tickets are worth one ad watching.
How Can You Cash Out?
You can supposedly collect any winnings you have made once you’ve reached $250.
The two options are PayPal and Amazon gift cards.
What You Need To Know About
1. Three Ways To Earn Is Pointless
From playing Coin Smashers, I found out early that doing all three ways isn’t exactly beneficial to you.
So if you are playing the main game and then opt to use the claw machine, you aren’t exactly earning more money.
This is because each bonus you get, regardless of how you get, it is a decrease on the previous one.
For example, if you played the claw machine and got $5, then picked up an instant reward.
The instant reward will be lower than what you got from the claw machine.
You don’t have three opportunities to earn, instead you have three ways to get bonuses just to stop users from getting bored.
2. Won’t Reach $250
Following on from the first point, you won’t get enough to reach the threshold.
I know it says $250, and that seems easy enough with money being so attainable early on.
But you’re driving down a dead-end essentially, as you will keep getting less and less money.
This means it is inevitable that almost all users will get to $240 before throwing in the towel.
I have been experimenting with other games lately, which follow the same concept.
They show you these huge bonuses to get you sucked in.
However, by the time you reach the later levels, you are barely getting cents.
If your banking on Coin Smashers to come to the rescue and payout $250 easily, I would think again.
Conclusion
As far as merging games go, Coin Smashers is probably the best one I have tried out.
Not that the standard is high because it isn’t however, what this game has is obstacles that make it hard to merge the coins.
When you play games, you want a challenge, and you will be surprised to hear that not many of these making money games make them even remotely difficult to complete.
The owners want you to zoom through the levels because they keep each level locked with an advert. If you reach level 100, you watch 100 ads, and that is good money.
Now with that said, let’s move on to my verdict. I don’t think Coin Smashers is genuine.
I am convinced that no one, including you, will reach that minimum threshold.
As a result, it is doubtful that the folks over at Benii Harel will be sharing any of their ad revenue any time soon.
A Much Better Alternative (Trust Me!)
Coin Smashers is a game to pass the time, not to be an income generator to pay all your bills.
They do make out like they answer everyone’s money problems, which is wrong because they don’t follow through.
It’s games like these that set a bad reputation for making money apps, as there are legit ones out there.
But with hundreds of games just like this one out there, it is hard to believe some will reward you.
After doing some research and playing around with a few apps, I made a list of apps that do pay you to play games.
That’s right, you can actually try out cool and trending games while receiving cash and gift cards for your time.
Not only that, you can have your time rewarded for also watching videos and filling out small questionnaires with these awesome apps too.
