17 Apps That Pay You To Refer A Friend In 2022

There are many apps out there that will pay you to use them.

However, what beats spending time on different apps to earn money, is referring others to your friends.

Not only can you make your income more passive.

But you can also introduce different apps to your friends that could help them make an income from their phones.

The mission of almost all app developers is to get many people to use their apps.

So, as a result, you will find that tons of apps encourage you to refer friends to help them grow.

Sometimes you can get paid a fixed amount, for example, a couple of dollars.

While others will give you a cut of whatever your friend purchases or earns.

In this post, I will cover 17 different apps that all pay you to refer a friend.

1. PrizeRebel

PrizeRebel has a great refer-a-friend scheme that rewards loyal users to the site.

With a 5-tier referral program, you start with a 15% cut of what your friends earn.

However, once you have earned 16000 points which is the equivalent of $160, you will get a more generous cut of 30%.

Overall, the PrizeRebel referral program works well, as the site is full of opportunities to earn, giving referrals a choice of things to do.

They can complete surveys, offers, and more, with you getting a fraction of the money they earn whenever they complete something on the site.

Once you have earned 500 points ($5), you can request a payout through either gift cards or PayPal.

2. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a well-known rewards site that has multiple opportunities for those looking to refer a friend.

Famous for its wide selection of ways to earn, including watching videos, surveys, tasks, and downloading apps, you can get a fixed fee for each friend you refer or a percentage of what they earn.

As a member of Swagbucks, you get a 10 percent cut of whatever your referrals earn on the site for life.

There is also an additional incentive for your friend to get the ball rolling, as when they earn 300SB (worth $3), they get another 300SB aswell as you for referring them.

Getting paid is relatively easy as the minimum threshold is 300 SB, so you and your friend can get a reward of your choice due to this promo.

Their rewards will depend on your location, especially regarding gift cards. However, options like PayPal and Pre-Paid Mastercard are available universally.

3. Feature Points

Feature Points is a rewards app with a very generous refer-a-friend program running.

With this app, you can earn up to 50 percent of what your friends make.

To start with, you begin on 25 percent, however, after referring three friends, you will go up to the maximum percentage they offer.

This is for life, too, so as long as your referrals keep using Feature Points to complete surveys and download games, you will keep earning into the future.

You can download it on both IOS and Android, with it also being available worldwide supporting different reward options.

This includes Bitcoin, PayPal, and a variety of gift cards, with a minimum threshold of $5 for PayPal, $1 for Gift Cards, and $10 for Bitcoin.

4. DropRewards

Drop Rewards is an app I recommend for anyone looking to refer friends but also get cashback on shopping.

The app rewards you with $5 for each referral who joins Drop and earns their first $10 by completing shop offers in the app.

Drop works with many different retailers in the US and Canada, so it gives your friends the choice to find one they may already use and get paid for.

It works for both you referring them and them using the app, as you both gain from it.

You are limited to 10 referrals, meaning you have an earning potential of $50.

Once you have made $10, you can cash out for PayPal or Gift Cards.

5. MistPlay

If you have mates who love playing games, then referring them to MistPlay could be worth it.

Mistplay is an app with millions of installs on the PlayStore that pays people to play different mobile games on their phones.

For each minute they play, they earn units that can be used to redeem rewards on a very smooth interface.

However, that isn’t just what it has. The developers have a referral program to encourage users to spread the word on Mistplay.

Your new friend will get 200 units ($0.25) for joining, while you will get 100 units (around $0.12) when they redeem their first gift card.

The minimum threshold is 400 units for a £0.50 Amazon Voucher, with other gift cards available.

6. Fetch Rewards

Fetch Rewards is a mobile app that rewards users for shopping.

Unlike other apps that specifically work with certain brands, Fetch Rewards pays users regardless of where they shop.

They must retain a copy of their receipt when purchasing goods and upload it on the app.

Users can earn a side income simply by doing this, however, its not the only way to benefit from Fetch Rewards.

They have a refer-a-friend system where users get 2000 points for anyone who signs up to Fetch Rewards and scans their first receipt.

These points are worth $2, with your friends also receiving the same amount.

7. Cash Em’All

Cash Em’All is a making-money game app that pays people to play games on their phones.

From third-party shooters to puzzle-themed games, they have a variety to offer.

However, its not just the gaming where you can earn money; there is also a refer a friend program, with a lot of potential.

The one that Cash’em All has two incentives to it. The first one is a 200 coin bonus for each friend you refer.

You also get 25 percent of all the coins your friends earn for life.

This gives you a lot of potential to earn if you have several friends who play mobile games.

8. Fluz

There are several cash-back apps out there that give you money when you shop.

A quick app store search will come back with quite a few.

However, Fluz is one that caught my eye a few years back for offering multiple incentives to its users.

Not only are you getting cash back for your everyday purchases, but you can also earn additional income from referring friends.

Its not just referring friends that can help you earn, but also them inviting friends too, as you also get a cut of their friend’s referrals.

While this may give out pyramid scheme vibes, it isn’t one of them, as the app developers don’t rely on referrals to make money.

When you refer someone, you get three 35% vouchers that can be used on well-known brands like Hulu, Xbox, and Uber Eats, to name a few.

9. Cash App

Cash App is an easy and secure app to send money between friends.

With the ability to make instant payments and with how easy the app is, you can’t go wrong with it.

Now while most of these apps I have used for at least a few years, I was late on the bandwagon of Cash App.

I only downloaded them a few weeks ago and was surprised at how straightforward their referral program was.

If you don’t know, Cash App gives both referrals, and the person doing the referral $5(£5) for inviting someone to use the app.

All a new referral must send $5(£5), and both parties will receive that amount as a bonus.

10. Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie is a company that connects market research companies with people who are willing to get paid for their voice.

The site is a reasonably well-known paid survey site within the online world; however its not just surveys with this company. You can also refer a friend.

Survey Junkie doesn’t have a referral program you can access from your dashboard like other survey sites.

However, they have an affiliate program where you can partner with them and get paid for each person you invite to the panel.

Payouts for this can be pretty generous and looking at affiliate programs.

If you look on a CPA network like Maxbounty, you will find that its possible to get $3.20 for each person you refer, as long as they are either Canadian or American.

11. AppFlame

AppFlame is an app that pays users when they play games.

However, you don’t have to play the games yourself to make money with this app.

Instead, you can refer a few mates and earn money whenever they decide to indulge in some mobile game.

I like apps like AppFlame because the referral incentives make it worth it for both parties.

As with this app, you get an excellent cut of what your friends make and vice versa.

Its not something you see every day, but you will get 25 percent of all the coins your friends earn, while they will get the same from you if you choose to play games yourself.

There is no cap on the earnings or the number of people you can refer, so this gives you some excellent potential to make an income.

12. ClipClaps

ClipClaps have a fun referral program, inviting people to use their app, you can earn treasure chests for growing your ClapTeam.

You can earn many things in these treasure chests, from straight-up money to raffle prizes.

The great thing about this is the more referrals you invite, the more money you can make, as each treasure chest guarantees you money.

It is through the raffle tickets that it gets exciting, as once you have earned enough tickets in these chests, you will be able to enter these for bigger prizes.

You will need between 20 and 120, depending on the prize you are going for.

Right now, you can get $10 Cash, $10 Amazon gift cards, 500k coins (worth $5)

Each chest will include some amount of money, though the more referrals you attain, the quicker you can earn and cash out.

If you haven’t tried out ClipClaps, its one I recommend, as there is a lot more to it, with the cool watching video and playing games features.

13. mGamer

mGamer is a get paid to app with over 10 million downloads that offer different ways to earn, including referring friends.

Along with the features to play games, try different apps, and even give opinions through surveys, you can get the app currency of mGamer by referring friends.

For each friend you refer to the app, you get 100 coins, while your friend also gets the same amount.

Once they have earned 5000 coins, you can choose different virtual currencies within your favorite games like FreeFire and PUBG.

If your trying to make money by referring friends, then the option of PayPal will be for you, with a minimum threshold of 19000 coins which equates to $2.

14. Attapoll

Attapoll is an app that gives users short surveys and pays them for their time.

Its a great choice, as you don’t have to worry about disqualifications as you will have to face some survey apps.

Now not only are their survey payouts instant, but also their referral program pays out fast.

How Attapoll work is when you refer a friend, you give them £0.20 when they join and £0.40 when they complete their first survey.

As the one who referred them, you get 10% off everything for as long as they keep completing surveys on the app.

15. Ibotta

iBotta offers an easy way to save money quickly and efficiently when you shop at stores.

One of the reasons they have amassed millions of users over the past few years is their decent cashback rates that go up to 30 percent.

However, that is not all because they have also been attracting users who want to earn money.

This is by giving $30 to new users, $20 being a welcome bonus, and $10 for using a referral code when you shop at least ten stores.

If you refer someone who follows those exact instructions, you will get $10 each time.

So as an example, if you referred ten friends who all shopped with ten stores, you would get a $10 bonus.

16. Get Upside

We have yet another cash back app, GetUpside, that rewards shoppers who buy meals out and purchase groceries and gas.

Since most people do these things, it has a lot of potential to save you or your friends some decent money.

That is not all, as GetUpside has a unique refer a friend opportunity, where according to the owners, you can make double their typical user.

There are two ways to earn; firstly, you have the signup bonus you get when a referral of yours uploads a receipt.

This gives you 20 cents for every gallon they use to fill up their vehicle.

The second way is a lifetime referral reward of 2 cents every time they fill up. Which while doesn’t sound like much, a good number of referrals will add up.

17. AppKarma

AppKarma is an app full of tasks that give users many options to make money through their phones.

Users can do things like download games, play games, and sign up to sites while making money in the process.

To go with all these opportunities, you have a refer-a-friend program that benefits you and your friend.

For yourself, you can earn an excellent 30 percent of whatever your friends earn while using AppKarma.

The reason why this is so good is there are a lot of high-paying opportunities on the app.

If your friends were to complete certain offers, you would be able to cash out quite quickly.

Now the benefit for your friends joining through you is that they get 300 of the app’s currency Karma Points, which can be used towards withdrawals.

Conclusion

If you have mates that are looking to earn money online, not only are there plenty of ways for them to do so through the comfort of their phones.

But its also more than possible for you to make a nice passive income through showing them apps too.

All the apps that pay you to refer a friend that I have included in this list are ones I recommend, as they make it worth your time to invite people to the sites.

Not only do they give you good rates, but your friends can benefit too, either through a signup bonus or just being able to earn or save through something they may have done anyway.

I hope this list gave you some fresh apps to check out. If you have any recommendations of apps that you feel should be included on this list, do let me know below in the comments.
